Welcome to Stockdogs 4 Ewe!

I would like to welcome you to StockDogs 4 Ewe Website. Sit back and enjoy the pictures and stories and learn all about Lisa Edwards. Her history, techniques, and see why she is one of the best Stockdog trainers in this area. Also meet her family, which consists of five dogs, and her students and their dogs.
Lisa Edwards lives in the Carson Valley oflogo Nevada, next to the foothills of the Sierra's. She has trained and loved and animals all of Veterinary Hospital, and learned a lot about the medical and nutritional aspects of caring for large and small animals. She has also worked on a cattle ranch, where she gained a lot of knowledge about how groups of animals move and behave. Most recently she has devoted herself to training dogs and teaching people how to work with their dogs more effectively.
Lisa has four dogs - two Border Collies (Snip and Chick), two Australian Shepherds (Rena and Rip). She has several other great herding dogs that she co-owns. You will meet them all soon. Along with her own dogs, she has learned the similarities and differences between various herding breeds. She also has first-hand experience with personality differences of dogs in the same breed. For example, Rip is an Australian Shepherd with tons of instinct and drive. Much of Rip's early training has involved teaching her to slow down and pay attention to what the stock is doing and listen to Lisa. Rena, on the other hand has always let Lisa know how Rena thinks that it should be done, and she is usually right. One style doesn't fit all when it comes to training dogs, and a skilled trainer like Lisa is able to look at an individual dog's strengths and weaknesses to best help them progress.
In addition to training herding dogs, Lisa is also a stockdog judge for the American Herding Breed Association (AHBA), and the American Kennel Club (AKC). Lisa has just recently put in her application, and has been accepted to judge Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA). Lisa has a reputation for being fair, honest, and supportive with contestants. Having trialed in these venues, she understands what it takes to be successful in the competitive world.
